I'm almost afraid to ask why you call it 1DeadV6. Hoping nothing is wrong with it. I see you finally got a hood?!! How hard was it to install and get fitted? Or is it a steel SS hood? It's not the one you've had in your back yard for days and days is it? Looks REALLY good. I should be coming to San Antonio towards teh end of the year for some schooling at Lackland. How far are you from there? Maybe we can meet up if you get the chance.

Car is looking SWEEEEEET!!!

are you kidding? lackland is 5 minutes away. but if we go to war, defcon charlie/delta makes it 2 hours to enter.
the hood came off a 2002 salvaged SS. it took 5 minutes to put on and then another 5 to fit it right. but if you try it at night it takes quite a bit longer. (right blig?)
really, lackland is in my back yard. i run to class 6 all the time it is so close. that is - after hours

well, when I get there.......guess who I'm gonna call???

I'm jealous about the hood....I'm thinking about getting the 4" cowl hood off ebay, but I'm not too sure about how it'll look. I think I'd need to get a larger spoiler to make the lines of the car even. I dunno.....I need to get off my *** and get my freakin' internals so I can install my SC.

That would be totally cool to finally meet you and see your car in person. I'm looking forward to going to 7 level school now.

At first, I admit I thought it was a tad bit ricey to re-color the scoop insert. But now that I've seen a picture of it in sunlight. I think it was the perfect (semi-subtle) touch that really sets off the hood and says "Hey I'm an SS hood" especially for a black car. And at that, it says "I'm interested in performance" If you highlight the actual scoop tray, I wouldn't go with red, but I don't know what other color would work?

*Sigh* one of these days I'll meet you over at the house but I'll roll up in the '79 so you can hear the beast. Probably catch the sound from that first stop sign (a rough quarter mile away)

I'd like to join, don't really have any reserves about it. I'm just wondering if I should wait for an opportunity to actually do some of the things to the car I've been talking about. With all the work around here lately, sidejobs, and project cars it gets hectic. So, my thinking here is basically that of 'wait till I can modify the car'. Joining a performance club with a nearly stock vehicle seems like a moot point? I could be wrong.

I'm going to call Salle Chevrolet today on those one-off specialty parts I need and see if they in fact make them, or can get them for me. Between that, and a call to Scat about a custom grind. If both of those pan out I will put money into the V6, if not I will have a much more relaxed pace of making it a more efficient handling and braking car.

So, I dunno, how many people are a part of or will be a part of S.A.S.S. ?? I mean if there is actually a tight-knit group then I may be interested in doing something. If I do a club I want to hit it full on ya know, go all out.

blig, that is what i am talking about- tight knit group. i am not asking everybody out there. i have my reasons for my invites. and i and the rest of the sick dont care if you have mods or not, we just care that you are an fbody enthusiest. and the fact that you have been to my house, have helped me with my car is defianately a plus in our book. the only money you need to join is $10. and i asssure you that is for a good cause. we have stickers and a website we need to keep up=$$$ and i am in the works of getting shirts for our members.
i will pm you.
