Emergency Brake Light Stays on
Emergency Brake Light Stays on
Its a 97 3.8 Camaro bone stock with rear drums. The other day while driving I noticed that the emergency brake light was staying on and the emergency brake lever was completely down. When you come to a stop the car stops fine until it slows down to about 20-15 mph and it feels like the brakes just stop working for a second and then they kick back in until the car stops. What would be causing this? Also I don't here any squeaking from the front or rear brakes or any other noise that would sound like the brakes need replacing. There are no other lights that come on in the guage cluster. Could it be possible that the brakes need to be replaced and are just not making noise or is there something else wrong?
Thanks for the help

Re: Emergency Brake Light Stays on
Sounds like an ABS issue to me... Were you doing any hard braking prior to this happening? I lost ABS once and it simply came right back when I restarted the car.

it sounds like you might have a leaking wheel cyl. You'll need to pull the drums off and check to see if you have any brake fluid back there. It's not a ABS problem because the ABS inop light would be on. Let me know if you what I can talk you thought on how to check it out and replace then over the phone. I also wanted to metion that the parts are here already for your car.
