EGR Valve question

Hello all. I have a 95 Camaro with a 3.4 V6 and my EGR valve is shot and they are kind of pricey for a new one. I was wondering if I could go to a salvage yard and take one off another vehicle. Are there any other vehicles that have the same EGR valve that goes into my Camaro? I was thinking a Grand AM or another car that has the same engine, if not does anyone know of cars that I could get the part from or would I be better off buying a brand new one?

The Grand Am 3.4Ls aren't the same engine. So I don't know if the EGR valves will be the same. Doubt it though. They can be found at salvage yards though. I got mine at one (for a 3.8L Camaro)

Thanks for the reply. I called up a couple local salvage yards but they didn't have any Camaros. So now I am wondering if any cars share the same digital EGR valve or does it absolutely have to come from a Camaro?

I don't know what else would have them, though I would look into any 3.4L RWD vehicles. And damn I thought EGR valves for my camaro were expensive I didn't realize it was over 200 bucks for the 3.4L. Take you're old EGR valve and actually walk in and maybe they can look and find a matching valve. That's all I know to tell you wish I could be more helpful

Yeah, they are expensive, I am trying to exhaust all my options before I buy a brand new one. But I think I will bring my part in and hopefully they can find a match. Thanks for help.

No problem. Others on this site have helped me immensely and the least I can do is return the favor when someone else needs help and I know something about it.
