well i know theres been a few posts of egr probs but i have a question that i would like a factual answer for

i have from egr to upper intake blocked off

questions

#1 do i get a gain from this or a loss and also if nothing do i get a gain or loss after it throws the code in the computer

#2 does it do anything to m.p.g.

 

Is that just a situational thing or have you already blocked it off? if you've already blocked it off, unblock it and see if there's any difference. My car is having egr/computer problems and as soon as my light comes on, the idle goes bad and my upper rpm goes bad. have fun.

ill try it with it unblocked but i definitly didnt notice a difference when i did block it off

 

overALL, usually how can you tell if your egr is acting up?

I had the same issue w/my EGR. I replace the EGR with no fix. I took off the elbow from the EGR to the intake and let it soak in Sea Foam and then scrubbed the hell out of the interior. Fixed my problem.

 

any have the answer for the original ques?
