egr?
egr?
At idle my camaro vibrates really bad. Then the second I touch the gas its stops. This is the egr valve right. I figured if its not too expensive I might as well replace it even if its not the key problem, after all my car is 9 years old, so I priced it. $310 at one place and $260 at another. Has anyone ever found one for cheaper.
How do you figure it to be the EGR? I would be 100% sure it is the EGR first (have any codes scanned) before you invest in a new EGR.
A rough idle might indicate a bad EGR, but it should be throwing you a code if it was going bad. Having to fix a bad EGR is not cheap...there really is no way of getting around it. You can try getting one off another F-body in a junkyard but it probably is dirty too...trying to spray and clean it will only buy you a little more time and you run the risk of damaging it.
I called around locally and the best I found was high $200s...then I found some #s to some GM guys and I got it for $150. Lost that paper with the #s though...
