drop a gtp into a 3.8???

i got a 96 with a 3,8 in i t and over 200,000 miles on it. planning on swapping the engine when i t dies, and was wondering if it was possible to stick the a supercharged 3800 series II from a gtp in it. Just considering all the options. and will it match up with the 4l60e tranny without doing anything?

No, the 3.8 from a GTP is from a FWD car. Differnt Tranny Set up, different orintaion.

It won't work, without lots of work & money.

Just do an LS1 swap or something instead.

I heard the SC from a gtp can work on a 3.8, but it wont fit in the engine compartment, you better get and ls1 from ebay or something and have your tranny rebuilt.

Contact F parts salvage in bristol PA, www.fparts.us

I'm sure they have a 3.8 from a wrecked camaro or firebird with low miles on it, that will be a drop in swop.

i recommend http://www.tacreationsusa.com that is where i got my LS1. but then there is also http://www.hpsalvage.com that is just a few miles from my house and he always has LT/LS1 in his shop. or try http://www.speedautomotive.com.
i dont recommend doing a swap though unless you are doing it yourself. cause it is $$$$ in the long run.

I don't recommend http://www.tacreationsusa.com, I don't know what they charge for their engines but on ebay they were selling just the lid of a center console for the starting price of $66.

If your going to replace the engine and going to go through the trouble of fitting the super charger. You should look into putting a LT1 in. Some people on this board managed to put a LS1 in their 93-97 Camaro. In case you didn't know the LT1 has 275 hp and the GTP setup has 240 hp.

Hrm... Lets re-read my post. Yep. Look at that. Nowhere do I say its a different engine.

Perhaps you should take a closer look at the posts you are going to bash, before you bash them, eh?
