Driveshaft
It was a miscalculation.
If you had done the math yourself. You would have instantly seen that 20 to 25 horsepower at the crank, by the time it feeds through the driveline will cost you about 4-5 horsepower, given the 15% or 20% loss in power due to parasitic drivetrain loss. And you would know, that I had meant 15 to 20 horsepower and simply quoted the mathmatical mean calculations.
I also never stated that you would gain 25 RWHP. I said horsepower, which it taken to mean at the crank, and at that, it was a relation of power. Not an exact figure (which you should know)
And just for your info you actually can gain RWHP and Torque by swapping driveshafts. Those numbers (though small) will show up on a chassis dyno.
Where you came up with the notion that I lead you to believe it would affect your quartermile ET is beyond me? I said there was a difference in the seat of the pants, and there is, but I didn't say it'd make you faster at the strip. There are a lot more variables to consider to affect the outcome of an ET drop.
My post may have been misleading simply because I entered the wrong numbers, but even so, entering 4 or 5 horsepower when I meant 15 to 20 is only being conservative, which there is never any wrong in doing. And aside from that, if anyone has enough knowledge to know it didn't sound right, they ought to know enough to figure out what I meant since it was a minor transcription error.
As far as symantics. Its what our whole language is based on. Mean what you say and say what you mean. Perhaps you don't choose your words as carefully as I do, but don't make the error of assuming I am playing 'word games' simply because I am more technical and articulate when it comes to automotive mechanics.
Where I work, I really can't afford for someone to misread what I'm saying. So I use all the correct terms and say exactly what I mean. Habit out of neccesity.

heh, i'm not even going to read all that BS because that's exactly what it is. you've been cought with your pants down and now you're trying to save face.

I wonder if my locking of this post will gain me like, 125 horses without the parasitic drag of some of the utterly retarded claims in this thread?
Install the driveshaft. You'll love it and gain a few horses in the process.
