Question Crazy noise from rear diff.

I was driving the other day and noticed a new noise coming from my car. I have a 5 speed V6 3.8. Its a rotating/churning noise it increases and decreases with acceleration. even when i role in neutral i hear the same noise as it is in gear. AT 65 in 5th it is louder than the radio. A buddy of mine said it might be my gears going bad? What do you think. It is coming from the rear. I also had a new clutch put in about a month ago. Thanks Coleman

Talking Went to mechanic

I checked tranny and diff. fluids are fine. The mechanic said my carrier bearings are going bad. This was kind of conveinent because i was replacing the differential and gears next week anyways. I am going with the Zexel-Torsen Limited Slip and GM 3.73 gears. So far it looks like http://www.tbyrne.com has the best prices on all this. Thanks for all the help.
