Alright, you folks are mostly camaro owners/fans. What would you rather own? A 2000 Corvette (345HP) any color or a 2002 SS (345HP) any color. The vette having 15k miles and the SS having 5k miles. Both stock, fully loaded, and coupes. I might be coming to this problem in about 6 months. I am leaning towards the 'vette because it would be a change. Which would you pick?

 

yeah i want to know too i was thinking of trading teh SS for a vette but im not sure what to do

 

Hard decision, I don't know if i could ever make a decision of that scale

 

Corvette but I woudl rather have a higher mileage '01 then a lower mileage '00....

Are you referring to the SLP 35th anniversary edition 02 SS? If so, that was a pretty sweet car, I got the privelage to drive a couple of them when I used to work at the Chevy dealer. Granted the vettes' are awesome cars and I would give my left kidney to own a brand new Z06, if I were in your situation and had to choose between two LS1 equipped cars, I would take the SS with little consideration.

 

Depends on pricing for me,if the Vette was within $5,000 its a no brainer.

On the other hand if you think living with an FBody as a daily driver is hard because of space....

 

I'd have to know the prices before I could make that choice.

 

Whichever has a 6 speed. Actually, I think I would go for the Vette. But if it was Vette v.s. WS6, then I would go with my WS6.

 

After driving the C5 I'd prefer that over a SS but I still love the SS so it comes down to price and conditon, I wouldnt take either in anything less then showroom condition.

Neither are very easy daily drives IMO

 

I'd take the vette hands down...


BUT I will put out, a vette is not cheap to maintain.

 

camaro ss. no questions. back seat, come cargo space, and the respect of having the same HP output. but mainly i'm saying camaro becasue of the back seat. i used to drive a truck and having my back seat is.. priceless compared to that truck.

vette has just as much if not more usable cargo space as a Camaro...

as for the backseat, I think I have carried someone in my backseat twice in teh last year.

 

I own a '02 SS LPM 6spd with 3,000 miles on it and I love it. My friends have a '99 C5 6spd and a '01 C5 6spd...I have driven both of them and LOVE driving the C5. The C5 hood is awesome(if you ever driven one you would know what I mean)and the car gets tons of looks..the ladies love C5s!

But everytime I get back in the SS with that hood all it's own, the SLP dual/dual and those chrome SS wheels I just love it! This has been an ongoing debate INSIDE my head every since I had my driver license.

Not pratical for most people..but I plan on adding a C5 to my driveway soon. I need to have both of them.

id take the vette as long as its an m6...they are lighter & generally slightly faster because of the weight advantage.
