clutch problem, please help!!

i have a 1993 v6 camaro and my clutch basically went to hell becuase of old age and a couple clutch dumps here and there so i decided to replace it.

well i spent all weekend taking it apart and replacing it and putting it back together. got it back together and theres basically no pedal. its like the clutch isnt disengaging. you can start the car when its in neutral but you cannot start it when its in gear, both with the clutch pedal in.

i tried bleeding the system, and a small amount of air came out but still nothing. maybe im missing something but is there an adjustment screw or something somwhere?

anybody have any ideas?

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Re: clutch problem, please help!!

well i went and worked on it some more last night. i turned the car on and had a friend move the swivel arm the moves the release bearing and the car shifted in and out of gear just fine like it was supposed to. this tells me that the slave cylinder doesnt have enough pressure to move the release arm. ive bled the whole system 2 times now and i cant seem to get any more pressure out of it.

also, after i did the above test, i noticed the clutch pedal get slightly more heavy.

i think i may need to replace the master/slave cylinder

I wonder if you might be right. How much does a new cylinder cost?

Follow this link, put your zip code, select the year, make, and model, and the question will be answered. Some of these prices include the slave and master.
