It's on a 94 3.4 Camaro. We've tried the paperclip and we even bought a GM obd1 scanner which didn't work either. We tested the terminal with a voltage tester, and it isn't getting any power to it. Does anyone know what our next course of action should be? How far "upstream" should we go? All fuses check out okay.

We've got an SES light on too, which I think is an O2 sensor, as it's running rich. The cooling fan isn't coming on either unless we turn the A/C on max. We replaced the engine coolant temp sensor and it didn't do anything.

The biggest hurdle now is just getting the codes.

 

Believe '93 was the last year you could flash codes using the paperclip method. If you're not getting power to the DLC port doublecheck the cig lighter fuse inside the car. What kind of GM obd1 scanner, is it one of those small code readers? If so don't think they'll work on a '94.

 

Yeah, after doing some further research, it appears we'll need the "big" scanner to check it... still, I think we should be getting power to the terminal. The actual cig lighter works, I tested it last night. I'm guessing that if the fuse was gone, it wouldn't work at all.
