Can i take off my ecu on 92?

I have a 92 rs v6 im putting a stroker motor in. What is the best way to bypass the computer? someone told me to hook up the motor and cut the rest of the wires. theres got to be a better way.

What kind of stroker motor are you putting in, a carbed SBC, TPI, TBI, LT1, something else? If you are going carbed, you can take out the PCM/ECU altogether, however, if you are staying fuel injected, you will need some sort of PCM since whatever platform you will be installing, the sensors, engine harness, and ECM will most likely not transfer over. Could you provide some more information on your setup please?

Your exising wiring harness and ECU will be of little good then. Your best option then would be to get aftermarket gauges and see if you can rig up a decent looking instrument panel with them.
