do you think a 1998 v6 camaro could beat a 2004 volkswagon golf gti vr6 ? they both have 200hp right ? although the golf is a lot lighter but it doesnt have much top end power. what do you guys think ?

 

Its not exactly like the 3800 series motor is loaded with upper end torque either. What are the trans. options in both cars? I would say it would be a pretty good race, but am leaning towards the Golf with its weight advantage. Only one way to find out.

My friend has a 04 GTI 1.8T (factory rated 180hp) and beat a Matrix from a 65mph roll with me in the car.

I always felt mine pulled best in 2nd and 3rd gear, My sister has the 1.8T jetta and it's a pretty quick little car! (mines faster then hers thought)

That GTI isn't exactly a slow car. Is the VR6 stock or is it chipped. They run very well when chipped. I have driven an older VR6 and it flys for a little car.
