camaro vs civic si
OK, your mods make a slight difference (iridium plugs are NOT a mod). You mention full 3" exhaust...headers included?
Unless you are a crap driver, you should keep it close.
Why did you start the poll asking stock vs. stock, when you aren't?

the mods you have done should be 15 flywheel hp. If you have headers i would say 25-30. you may have a race if you can 60ft your car and the other driver cant. Otherwise once the SI is in vtec powerband your going to have a hard time catching him. If you get out ahead first you may have it.

I used to drive a civic and the torque curve is so peaky that some people would be scared to drive them how they are meant to be driven. If the driver is afraid to take it all the way to redline you will probably win. I'm willing to bet your area under the torque curve is a lot healthier but he can hold each gear longer if he knows what he's doing.
You'd be surprised how many people are scared of redlining their car. The first time I rode in a 4th gen the guy was shifting around 3500 when he was trying to show me how fast it was. I remember thinking I would have a decent shot at him in my civic because of how he drove! (pretty sure it was an LT1 since I graduated in 1997 and this happened in HS). In college I rode in an LS1 vette (automatic even) and it was eye opening. Never looked at a Honda since.
Launch from a dig so you get the advantage of RWD weight transfer.

yeah, I would bet the civic SI would win, but if you took a 2010 base v6 camaro and a an SI civic, I bet the camaro would win and cost less too. Also if you bought a 3.8 and added a turbo set-up you could destroy the SI and still cost less too.
so will a stock 3.8 Auto beat a baseline 140 hp civic?

Re: camaro vs civic si
my stock 99 camaro v6 a4 spanked a k20 2002 honda civic si hatchback with a couple of bolt ons.
I still managed to beat him twice i the quater. In the first race he had a better launch but i still passed him by the 8th mile. The second race i had a alsome launch was gone no him catchin up.
But this was a 2002 si as the newer ones or a lil more powerful and redline a lil higher.
