Brakes question

Will drum brakes from a 97 fit on a rear axle from a 2002 Firehawk? The reason i'm asking is I have a chance to get an almost new 3.42 posi rearend complete minus the brakes, and I was wondering if the drum brakes from my car would bolt right on to this one. Any info or help would be much appreciated.

Most likely not, since Firehawk has disc brakes in the rear.

Why don't you upgrade your drums to discs while you're at it?

Later!

Well, the rearend is complete, just the guy re-used the brakes on his new 12 bolt. I just want to know if my drums will bolt right on to where the rotors used to be. Anyone else?

I'm not certain if they will fit but maybe i can help you to be able to tell. You will need to pull the axels on your new rear end and switch out the mounting brackets from the disk bracket(holds the caliper) to the drum bracket which holds the backing plate that the shoes mount too. Hope this helps some. Good luck!
