brake pads

I'm looking into replacing my brake pads. I think the ones I have now are stock with 40k miles on them. They still have quite a bit of wear, maybe 20k+, but they have a terrible feel. I think they are really glazed.

What performance brake pads do you guys recommend that you have had experience with or heard good things about? I know most performance pads suck until they warm up to a point, but there has to be a set out there that's a good mix of cold/hot performance.

Anyway, any info is welcome. thx.

I replaced my stockers with Bendix almost 2 years ago and they've held up really well. They're pretty thin right now and they still stop me pretty well. I let them go too long unfortunately and my pass. side rotor has been eaten into by the pad *the squeakers* . I picked up a new set of rotors and Hawks Performance pads... I heard good things about them. Figured I'll give them a try and if I don't like them I'll scrap em for another set of Bendix or even AC Delco OEM replacements.

hawks are sweet....

I have them on all 4 discs... they feel a little wierd for the first few stops when the car has sat for awhile but after that they grip like crazy.

as for your pads being glazed, if you take them out and sand them with a fine grit of sandpaper, that can help "unglaze" them.

yeah, i used the sandpaper trick when i installed the new roters. but i think the OEM pads just get glazed really easily. I should have gotten performance pads when installed the powerslots.

thanks for the info.

I've got Ceramix on mine. They work really well. Good stopping power, no noise and what little dust there is is extremely hard to see.
