bird/camaro
exact same almost everywhere like was said above, but body parts are a little harder to find and seem to be more expensive on firebirds than camaros (i have a 95 t/a and 94z i am basing it off of)
I bought my Firebird instead of a camaro for two reasons. I liked the standard equipment package on the Firebird better and I though the standard interior was better on the Firebird, both in terms of quality of materials used and seat comfort.
Don't think there's much difference in reliability, except maybe that the Firebird's headlights can cause grief.

I chose my Camaro over the Firebird cuz the proportions are way better. The 2nd iteration of the 4th gen's Firebirds curvy front dont really match the back, and the hood area appears larger than the maros, maybe the fenders come out more. You can also tell it was based off the Camaro design because the plastic cowl appears way more noticeable because the hood don't flow into the mirrors. The qtr panels flare out pretty wide and don't look right when you are lookin at it from behind. Also, the Firebirds rear end styling looks more "base", like something is missing. I think its' the rear integrated spoiler and the way the bottom of the bumper ends. The taillamps are Big too. I also like the gauges and vents on the dash more on the maro. But as to the reliability issue, the 'maro has exposed lights, no worries about that headlight gear.

honestly im disgracing my camaro but i think 4th gen firebirds look a little better (not that camaros dont look bad ***
). comes down to whichever look u like better in the end. For some reason when i was searching for an LS1 car, camaros were a little cheaper than Firebirds/Trans Ams all other thigns being equal.

i love the fact that i drive a camaro...ive driven both/ridden in both, but my camaro is a 3.4 the bird i drove was a 3.8...ofcourse the 3.8 has a little more get up...but you get to tell people you have a chevrolet camaro...not a pontiac...this has came up a lot with my friends and out little car club, they say they would rather drive mine even though its a 3.4 because its a chevrolet, not a pontiac...im not a big fan of the gigantic tail lights either....pop up lights give the car some attitude to it, but i hear they break a lot! oh well, its whatever YOU like, either way your gonna have some fun.

I have owned lots of camaros and lots of firebirds. I like them both and always based my decision on the deal I was getting. That said if I had a great deal on both staring at me I would take the firebird every time. The reason is simple.
Driving at night with the T-Tops off in 75 degree weather, I can see the headlights popped up while the wind runs through my hair. Oncoming cars knows a sports car is coming thier way even before they can hear my engine. I glance down to check my speed to see a totally bad a$$ red glow coming off my dash. I feel like I'm driving a possessed demon.
Although I can have almost the same feeling from my camaro's I have to admit the night driving was a tad more fun for me in the Firebird line. Yes the headlights can cause problems down the road but it's well worth is. There are several help guides on the internet that tell you how to inexpensively fix a majority of the common ones yourself.
I loved the way my 94 maro looked but was not a big fan of what chevy did to the headlights and front end in 98. From a distance another car might not know your a sportscar till you get close but there is no mistaking a firebird.
Good luck
