Ok big boy, i can get a 5.7 300hp ( i know, its low ) for 3k. Go ahead and re-build a 3.8 or 3.4 for 3k. Yea, i dont know anything, just a troll. BTW i drive a 93z, 03GT, 71Malibu, try again noob, just IMO.

And puting a crate in a v6Fbod hardly means running 9's.........go watch the F&F again big guy

i am building a 400hp 3.4L for around 3500$. and its alot more than 3k to do an lt1 swap. all of those little sensons and fitings do add up to some money. dont even try to do an ls1 swap without at least 6k. do some research before you shoot down someones dream of a fast six!

btw, thats a whole intercooled turbo kit, not n/a! i could get 300hp from a 3.4L or under 3k!!!!

Why are you wasting your time on a LT1? The LS1 is where its at, same with only a 03 GT, a 03 Cobra is already built fromt hte factory, and didn't some guy get around 700 hp with bolt ons only with sticl supercharger, and and stock motor?

Yup are wasting yout time, you will have to spend alot of money on bolt ons jsut to get your lt1 to even just be a match for a LS1, and don't even get me started on what you will need ot do on your GT.

And I hope you are talking about a crate LT1 or crate LS1, because a regular crate small block with a distributor, will be very hard to fit under the cowl, and once you do get it ot fit it will be very hard to work on, hence why the Lt1 and Ls1 do not have a distributor in the back of the motor like a regular small block.

And ok $3000, for a 350

Now you need to buy a new driveshaft, rear end, crossmember, ecm, harness, front springs, all acceories, transmission. Thats just off the top of my head, I don't know the everything.

So lets just say you are having buttsex with your local junkyard owner and get a all that for $1,000 which is pretty much impossible.

so $4,000 for that whole car, so this is betterh then a $900-$1500 rebuild the guy was looking for. And he will have a motor made for his car instead of a motor swap and a freshly rebuilt motor.

Not sure you plan works to well.

btw what I meant by the 9 second comment is the fact that not everyone can afford or wants a built car that fast. If they did don't you think everyone would be drivng 250hp+ cars and the f-body wouldn't have been discontinued?

TTT for the original question..

I do not know too much, but I am sure Grand Prix GTP internals are swappable with a 3.8L in f-bodies, that might be a relatively cheapre route to have a motor that can handle boost with out spending too much money.

Assuming you ever want to go super or turbocharged.

it depends on how far you are wanting to go with your rebuild and what you are willingly to put into the car and what you want after the rebuild.

Cam and headwork would be the main things....high compression pistons are a bit much unless you really are doing some serious engine work...but not a bad idea...
