best exhaust suggestions!! need to know!!
Right now i just have a stock single exhaust and i wanted to move up in the world. No matter what i need to replace the Cat. Would u suggest getting the y 87 package for the v6 or should i keep the single and go for the cherry bomb approach. What do you think i would benifit more for sound and power too. give me your suggestions. thanks.
Y87 package? That is a bunch of stuff (LSD, tires, rear discs, steering ratio, etc), not just a dual exhaust.
Performance and sound go hand-in-hand on this one. If you want to maximize both, you'd want to go for at least a bigger I-pipe (stock is 2.25", people usually go 2.5" to 3", I have 3") and muffler. Really, there is no "best" muffler and I have yet to see dyno numbers to prove any one is better than another. Its more of a preference of sound and cost. Since you have to replace your cat, you might as well go for a hi-flo one.
You'll want to get an intake as well to help the engine breathe more air in and deepen the exhaust tone. If you want to finish it all up, add in headers and it will sound very nice.
The setup that I have is an SLP intake, Pacesetter headers, Magnaflow hi-flo cat, 3" I-pipe, Flowmaster 80 to B&B tips.
