Re: best catback

I'm also curious about what the best sounding is. #1 I'm looking for it to not sound like *** in the higher RPMs (I'm willing to accept that its not going to sound like a V8, but I've heard some really ricey catbacks on V6 f-bodies.) I'd also like it to be fairly loud and deep.

Re: best catback

Bolroa (sp?) is the best sounding by far but its %600
TSP is loud and deap and has hardly any rasp, everyone that has one likes them 300 with tips i think
SLP loudmouth is REALLY LOUND some say it has rasp some don't, about 400 bucks
there are others too just depend on what you want,

also read the exuast sticky at the top of this page might help you out some more

Re: best catback

My Borla sounds good now, not a V8, but a different sound, although some think it's a V8 by the sound.

IMO for some reason it took some time for the Borla to sound good, about a year! I think it has to burn in or something

I got mine from Summit for about $550 in 02

Re: best catback

Thats what I was worried about. Guess I'll just put it towards the V8 swap.

Re: best catback

V8 swap. pfffffffttttttt. Waste of money :P If you want an LT1/LS1 buy the Z28.

As for best sounding exhaust, I got you all beat. Custom baby, custom. Stainless steel 3" pipe w/ dynomax race bullet (3" in/out) out to a pair of SLP Loudmouth dual/dual tips

Re: best catback

its not a waste of money for me, my car was given to me by a friend of the family. So V8 swap, around 4k...still less than the price of a Z28 with the car in as good of shape as mine.
