Acceleration problem in heavy rain..?

Hey. My 96 v6 camaro runs pretty well normally. However, whenever it happens to rain heavily, I will have odd acceleration problems and a check engine light. My car right off the bat will show extreme delay in acceleration as well as vibrations and noises which I would obviously consider "not good"..This seems to only happen in heavy rain, and I get only a few acceleration problems in normal conditions. Anyone know what's going on?

If it is only happening during heavy rain...logic would be lack of traction. What are the condition of your tires...better yet, what kind of tires do you have (size/brand).

I just bought two brand new Cobra tires (ew) for the rear, I have the goodyear eagles on the front, which are in good condition. all at 35psi. I don't see that as the problem unfortunately..

I also do not receive a "Low Traction" warning when this occurs.

It's probably bad plug wires. Spray some water on the plug wires and look for arcing. If you check the code, it's probably a p0300 misfire code.

Definitly sounds like a misfire.

Yeah the same thing happens to me. Today i started up the car and it was being very sluggish (last night it rained really really hard) the spark plugs and wires are very old, i just bought this car cause my old one got totalled and it has 92k on the clock with the plugs and wires never changed even though the previous owner assured me they were. So its probably that. I am giong to change them the first oppertunity i get.

Some of them are usually not the brightest crayons in the box. . I mean......some hot college girl had mine b4 and didn't use the sun vizor to cover the dash.....and now its cracked (Or maybe I was just my subs ) Also she was a slob. I found tons of crap under the seats cleaning and lots of coins under the carpet in the truck and in seats.

I know this is off the subject, but I see you are interested in the ROH RT wheels as it says in your sig. I have them on my car, take a look at my sig, you will want them even more.

For some bizzare, insane reason, I found at least 40 ciggarette butts beneath the plastic cover panel for the automatic shifter. That's just rediculous. Makesyou wonder what the hell people are thinking. "Hey, might as well chuck dozens of butts where I can't pick them up easily and sell the car looking like crap."

have you guys looked at the ashtray?

It has a hole in it, if you smoke cigarette butts are gona fall into it by the shifter, if you have money in it it falls out as well...

i yanked my interior to clean it out and I found $22 in quarters floating around, UNDER the carpet. Between me and my dade for the last 10 years, quarters spread around.
