97 3.8 Starter swap

I know that this might sound crazy. I am a fan of two kinds of vehicles. Chevrolet Camaros and Cadillac Devilles. I own a 97 camaro rs 3.8L w/ 63000 miles on it. I love everything about my car except the starter. It works fine but there is just something about the sound a Cadillac makes when that Northstar kicks over. Is there any way possible to modify the starter from a Caddy to fit my 3.8?

Re: 97 3.8 Starter swap

I doubt it. not with out some major custom work. The way the caddy northstar and gm 3.8L starts are made and how they bolt up to the engine are totaly different and I blieve they requier differnt ammounts of amperage to have those starters operate porpely.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, the Northstar starter mounts internally whereas the 3800 series is external.
