besides the slp version of a CAI, is there any other companies that make one? the guy at my local speed shop said slp was the only one that makes it for a 96 3.8L.

That guy needs to be put in his place, all sorts of companies make a intake for 3.8 fbody

 

Technically, the only one "specifically" for a 1996 is the SLP unit.

Go to K&N's website and there isn't one listed for a 1996 (last time I checked, which was a while back) but all you need is the elbow.

So no, there isn't just one...you can use the K&N. Or make one up yourself if you don't have the $$$.
