95 V6 vs Z28
95 V6 vs Z28
I was thinking about buying a 95 Camaro for parts. What part differences are there between the two other then the obvious motor 3.4/3.8 vs 5.7. Do they use the same front suspension set up and k-member? What are all the differences.
Re: 95 V6 vs Z28
Outside of engine and tranny, the v8 car rear has discs, but the rest of the rear axle is the same. Suspension, if not the same, is really similar in terms of stuff like swaybar measurents and the like...
K-member is different for all 3 engines mentioned. The rest of the sheetmetal and subframe is the same. The wonders of mass production.

V8 cars arent one wheel peel...so im assuming there is more different in the rear end other than the disc brakes

they are the same...
differences off the topf my head...
motor
tranny
kmember
tranny brace
spring rates(some v6s are stiffer some are softer)
motors
fuel pumps
fuel lines
exhaust
the rears are the same but most v6s had open diff, some had LSD (option G80)
Re: 95 V6 vs Z28
Fuel lines....the v6 ones can be used. Supposedly just undo the clip holding the v6 ones in place and stretch to the LT1 intake.
Fuel pump, yeah, different, but will more than get you by unless you drag race the car. I just want a cruiser that I don't have to shift gears on. That works.
You can get by with v6 springs, you could get by with v6 exhaust piping after the exhaust manifolds if need be. I already have a Z-car catback in storage.
If I'm waaaay off, I'll find out after I go drivetrain shopping. Bet on it.
