Can you hear the fuel pump come on? Do the dash lights all come on? Does it click under the hood at all? Have you tried to turn the engine over by hand? Turn on your headlights and hit the starter and tell us if they dim at all or a lot or anything like that. Has it been cranking over slow before this or just up and quit all at once? Have you cleaned battery cable ends? If it clicks, and the lights all dim when you try to start it, cut the rubber off around the battery bolts, just the circular part of the rubber. Clean all the corrosion off the terminal and the bolts. Try again. If nothing then check voltage at starter, if its not getting 12.5 at the starter(if your battery is fully charged), then replace the cable, If its getting full voltage to the starter lug, pull the starter and have it tested, or test it with jumper cables off the car. You could use jumper cables on it while its on the car if you dont jump when it sparks or spins. Lots of ways to test it all out. If it doesnt click under the hood when you hit the key, start looking towards your ignition switch. Unlikely the security system disabled it if the light has been on forever already. my V6 was like that and I ended up just taking the bulb out. Still starts every time after 4 years like that.

my little brothers car will do that from time to time. If he waits alittle while then it will usually start just fine. We were thinking it had something to do with the key, resistor, and security.
