i got a dynomax super turbo muffler on my 99 3.8 and it sounds pretty good. only cost me like 60$, then another 75 to install it. You can get whatever kind of tips you want, mine were 50$ for 2 chrome 3". you could also put a cutout on it, not sure what it would sound like though....

if you want it just to be loud , get a cutout... have it placed by an exhaust shop before the cat... if they wont do it before the cat (which they probably wont do) tell em to do it before the axle.., you can get a cutout on jegs, summitt.. many exhaust shops have them.. they are easy to get ahold of

I would go with a flowmaster muffler. I've got the 80 series flowmaster muffler with a 2 3/4" I-Pipe (pipe going from the cat to the muffler) and an aftermarket catalytic converter. It sounds good and fairly loud. It also adds some hp. I was gonna go the route of the cut out or take the cat right off, but i have heard that these sound pretty bad on a V6. Personally i don't like the sound of a dynomax muffler, but thats just my opinion. I find that the flowmaster gives it a deeper rumble than the dynomax which is again, my opinion.

thanks for the information, at first i wanted to get a cutout but i realized that i would kind of go for the dual exhuast as well. that dynomax surper turbo muffler sounds good with the 3 inch tips. please give me information about where i can get them from and how much the cost would be?
thanks

I found a brand new flowmaster kit for $235 for my 95 camaro v6. Dual exhaust and everything. Do you think its a reasonable price?
thanks

Dynomax is NOT loud.

Flowmaster IS loud.

If your only concern is being loud, get a 3" pipe and an intake (if you don't already have one).

Dual outs...not dual exhaust.

It will be loud compared to a dynomax by itself but will be deeper and somewhat louder with an intake. More power is the main benefit from pairing the exhaust with an intake. Sound is an extra.

Installation all depends really. Depends on if you plan on getting it all done at the shop or if you plan on buying parts and having a shop install it or doing it all yourself.

SLP cold air intake, but its almost 200 bones. buy it through lmperformance, thunderracing, or tbyrne. shop will prolly charge you 50-100 to hang the exhaust, buts its really not worth it (to me at least)... you can do it yourself in a couple hours at most.
