I recently just picked this car up for a daily driver type of vehicle. It has 98k miles on it right now and while I was driving it home I had noticed that the oil pressure seemed pretty low after it was warmed up. cold=40psi warm=10 psi at idle and it seems to fluctuate. Is this normal ? I was thinking maybe changing the oil pressure sensor, my question is, where its at ? I also just changed the oil to pennzoil 10w-30 which seemed to bump it up a few psi.

My other question is, when I took it home it seemed to shift great, I even put it on the lift to have it checked out and topped off the transmission (t-5) with atf. the other day I was moving it around and I could hardly put into any gear without grinding. Its feels like the clutch was still engaged even though I had the pedal to the floor. When I did get into gear and tried to shift the shifter felt stuck. I dont know what could have happened overnight. I had been very cold lately so maybe its effecting the throwout bearing ?

My 95 has 205,000 on it and oil pressure is about the same as yours, has been for the last 65,000 miles or so. No problems out of mine as of yet. Dont know what to tell ya on the trans. Somebody will chime in give it a little time on the board. Try doing some searches in the drivetrain section.

Did you check the clutch fluid? Forgive me if you have but you didn't mention it and that's something very easy to overlook. It's possible you have a leaky slave or master cylinder if there is not enough fluid in there.

yes I checked it and it was full, didn't have to add anything. Forgot to mention the clutch was done before I had it, but I don't understand how it shifted nice the day before and not the next. The only thing I can think of is the cold air effecting the throwout bearing which is not uncommon.

anyone know where the oil pressure sensor is located ?

Well that's possible then.

Those stock oil pressure gauges aren't the most accurate in the world. I don't recall where the sensor is on the 3.4L though. I think it's in one of the heads but I'm not completely certain.

Reading more about the clutch problem, I may try to bleed it and if that don't work I'll change out the slave cylinder.

Oil pressure sensor is right above the oil filter has a big aluminum lookin heat sheild wrapped around it. I just removed mine altogether and put in an aftermarket gauge set.

little update...
I changed the oil pressure sensor, and now my oil pressure is 60 psi cold and hot idle it is 45-50 psi

still haven't figured out what to do with the hard shifting. I know the clutch probably needs to be bleed but it looks rather difficult to do.
