is there any difference between the who engines of the two different years.

There is no difference in the engines, the PCM also remained the same. The diagnostic port connector did change from 94 to 95 from the old ODB-I ALDL connector to the new ODB-II style.

Of course the 3.8 was offered mid-year 95 with automatic.

So wait, some 95s had the 3.8 like the 96s and up?

Yes, the 3.8 was introduced mid-95 alongside the existing 3.4 cars. The 95 3.8 was only available with an automatic and I believe only as a California model.
