Gotta love next-day shipping.

Well finally got the new computer into the car and while it made a small change it didn't fix the problem. Going to get a new PROM for it and hope that maybe that helps (its suggested that you reflash it after getting a new computer which is $110 and I found one for $140 which means I know it'll be good)

Mechanic is convinced at this point that it must be a problem with spark or in the fuel system.

Let me think some more about the problem; I'm kind of out of ideas.

Thank god! Mechanic went back and started to take everything apart (for the third time) and found that the timing chain had jumped. He's going to get it fixed and we are going to hope that this is the cause of the problems now.

I still wonder if it isn't a computer problem. Either way, keep me posted!

Timing chain was not the problem... >.<

Going back to basics for the fourth time and running through everything that we can think of. Any suggestions where I might be able to find a new engine that is ready to go out of the crate? At this point I'm wondering if I would just be better off with a new engine all together...

I know it's not the answer you want to hear, but it'll be impossible to find a new 3.1 engine. And if the problem was with a wiring or sensor, you'd still have the same problem the minute you fired the new motor up.
