3rd Gen V6

I have an 86 Camaro with a 2.8L V6 MPFI 5spd. Im wondering if anyone knows anything about performance parts for this car. Anything at all whether its engine, suspension, etc. Its not slow right now (I've beat a V8 Camaro twice and a 2002 TA twice) But Id like to get a little more out of it. Any info would be great. Thanks.

P.S. Id like to turbo it or S/C it. I think that would be awesome. Really blow away those Mustangs LOL. I already was able to keep up to a 5.0L once. Almost beat it but then all of a sudden I realized there was a cop in front of me LOL. Any info would be great! Thanks

Re: 3rd Gen V6

Are you sure they were racing? Not to be offensive but an LS1 equipped f-body will flat out murder your car. That being said, there are a few things you can do to your car. I worked with a guy who rigged up a custom exhaust for his car and he added some sort of chip and a cold air intake. Seeing that the motor in your car is very similar to the v6s offered in the old cavys, grand prixs, berettas, ect., there may be some aftermarket stuff like cams and superchargers available but I'm not quite sure. It would probably be cheaper and easier to find a 305 or 350TPI motor and dump that in there.

The poor guy has a 2.hate, for Pete's sake.

If he can beat a v8 F-body that is backing out of the driveway, he'll claim it. That's okay in itself...considering the circumstances.

I would say toss in an aluminum head swapper 3.4L, but you'd need to keep the DIS for the later engine until that one guy from thirdgen.org whose names escapes me right now figures out a distributor that can clear that FWD intake...

Re: 3rd Gen V6

There are lots of performance parts available for the 60* v6 motors.

Your best bet for help with a 2.8/3.1/3.4 is to go to www.60degreev6.com. The guys there are experts at getting power out of those motors, and they also burn chips for them too.
