3800 MAF Spacer?
if you're talking about a spacer, then you probably mean the trottle body spacer. its used to insolate the throttle body from the intake manifold. the idea is that if the throttle body is cooler, then the air has less time to warm up after its sucked in as it travels through the air cleaner to the trottle body, then the manifold then to the cylinders past the valves. cooler air, means denser air. denser air means there is more of it being sucked in which in turn means more power.
i don't personally know how effective the TB spacer is at doing what its billed to do tho.
the MAF is a sensor at the mouth of the throttle body. there are no spacers for it, but there's a honeycomb screen right in front of it. some people remove those because they reduce the air flow. i removed mine and i didn't feel any difference, so i put it back on.
