Question 3.8L to 5.7

Have any of you heard of a 1996 stock 3.8L camaro swaping for a carburated 5.7?

I've seen it done on other vehicles, so it can be done, but there is a lot that you'll have to change out. Fuel pump, harness, cpu, etc. It comes do to, is it really worth it.
