I'm thinkin' of rebuilding my 3.8 or just replacing it with a new 3.8 crate motor. My question is....how big of a cam can I put in it...and what programming will have to be done to the computer to accept it? I'm not gonna go with an extremely wild cam....just something bigger than stock!!
Also...I thought about a V6 to V8 swap...but it seems to be a real hassle since I don't have a place to work on my ride anymore.I don't wanna pay a shop to do all the mods.

Come on guys....gimme some feedback!! I've noticed while looking for info on the 3.8 Series II motor, that there's not much out there for it as far as mods or aftermarket perfomance engine upgrades....why? And what can really be done to the motor to make it more powerful? I'd like some answers...just don't know where to look...HELP!

stock crank. clevite bearings. L32 rods. Nice set of pistons. 210/220 cam w/ 112 LS, send your heads/ Intake out to get P&P and a 3 angle vavle job on the heads. 105# springs, hardened pushrods. bigger fuel injectors. swap your 96 pcm for one out of a 97. send the 97 to www.texas-speed.com for a cutom tune. (96's cant be programmed, 97's can and they are a direct swap)
