3.4ltr turbo guys/gals step inside

OK I just got a turbo and a waste gate, one of my friends is up-grading his 944 Porshe to a bigger one. So I swapped some parts for this. Anyone on here build a turbo system for thier 3.4ltr? or does anyone have any info for doing a turbo install on the 3.4ltr? or even some links?
thanks in advance.

Tiago did... and is running pretty strong even though he ahs some tuning issues...

Are you planning on doing more then jsut a turbo like beefing up the turbos ro jsut rebuilding the block?

I would reccomend porting the heads if you want to get more serious gains.

I want

I want to go .030 over on the block, Crane Compu-cam, roller rockers, forged pistons, bigger fuel injectors and the turbo. I know we can run a seperate FMU with the stock pcm, I just have not tried it yet, like a Venum, or Holley Commander one that takes over at higher RPM. I would like to see some exhaust manifolds and pipes, how someone else built theirs, and how they did the PCM and/or seperate stand alone controller? Or did they just do a Ed Wright program???

60 over is the most you can possibly go , so i woudl sugguest doing 30 over the first time , then if you need to rebuild it again in the future you dont have to worry about not being able to bore it again

I am speechless! Excellent job! It came out like a professional job and I bet its fun as hell!

What did you do to the engine to hold up to the turbo? Can you safely run more boost?

I'd really like to see that car in a magazine feature. Its unique and nicely done. I bet its even more fun with the stock wheels and tires. You get the sleeper look going and they never see it coming.

Please keep us up to date as to its progress. Its really an interesting car. Visit www.motownmuscle.com theres a guy in there thats a magazine freelance photographer and another couple of guys from car magazines and you could probably draw some attention over there.

I can't tell you enough what a great car you have.

wow, thanks for the compliments

if there is interest to put it in a magazine it would be awesome then Id be speechless

the engine can handle much more boost, about twice that probably. I ran 12 lbs for a good while , but started having fuel problems on top end, so tuned it down to 6psi until I can put a bigger pump on it, then its on

the engine internals are stock for now btw, thats chanigng this year though

Whoaw!!! Tiago!!

Tiago thanks, that totaly rocks!!! I am going to down-load your vidios at work too (yup, only 56k modem at home he he).
Anyways, I plan to send you a couple of e-mails. I actually have a Porshe Two stage, with 2 Turbos and a waste gate, but was only planning on running one of them, I also have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I have a custom exhaust shop close by that has a mandrel pipe bender. I will have to show them your pics, and you have plenty of them-thanks! What are you running for a PCM? Have you tried a venom fuel controler? I just check with them and they will work on my 1993 3.4LTR PCM. Also what injectors are you using? thanks a lot bro! Do you own your own shop? if not, you sure should man!!!

Hey Tiago, did your computer just automatically learn your new settings? I'm planning on using 36lb/hr injectors (from a GTP) for my turbo setup, but I figured I'd need to custom tune it somehow. Should my PCM just relearn the new injectors?

the pcm can only adjust so much, after that you gonna have to have custom tuning.

Tiago, here you go http://www.venom-performance.com/nf/html/v400.htm
If you click on the complete list you will see our 4th Gen F-bodies are covered, even our 3.4Ltr's ! I am sure one of these will really improve a Turbo system! It would be nice to have L32 edit, or Tuner cat! But maybe a Venom would do the trick? I also think we could get a Holley Commander 950 controller to work good too! Not the whole fuel injection system, but just the 950 controller.
