3.4L v6 HELP

sorry for people wondering why i have 2 of these. i accidently put first in whong place! OK so, i recently took the v6 3.4L camaro engine out of an 95 camaro. i got it to run but one day accidentally hooked up the battery backwardz!! this fried my ignition control pack of which i got new of. now it will run but when it starts it will die off in about 5 seconds like it is not getting enough fuel.... maybe. any other suggestions of whAT i could have fried to make it do this? p.s. this engine had no fuses on it at the time. and p.p.s. i also got a new computer with the ignition pack.
THANKS FOR ANY FEEDBACK! KEVIN.

Re: 3.4L v6 HELP

check the injectors to see if they are firing, with a test light, light should flash on and off as the injector fires. sounds like only the cold start injector is working. or listen for a injector to click on and off.

Re: 3.4L v6 HELP

sounds like the anti-theft is on. this kills fuel pump and injection after 2 seconds of start-up. maybe blew the anti-theft module with the battery blooper?

Re: 3.4L v6 HELP

there is no "cold start injector" on these cars. you say you JUST put the engine back in the car? how long did the car sit w/o engine? gas in the tank might have gone bad. maybe fuel pump or the PCM took damage from the backward battery. disconnect the coolant temp sensor, (the one by the thermostat), to force a richer start-up. see if it helps getting the car started. it would be nice to scan the sensors with a scanner and see what they are doing. possible bad coolant sensor reading or map sensor reading. also.......did the injectors sit outside or are they from a junkyard engine? injectors are the first thing to clog up when they sit too much outside car.

Crank Position Sensor maybe? I had bad luck with those on mine. Check your fuel pressure if you can keep it running.

i was also wondering about the injectors. how would i go about cleaning them? yes they are out of a junkyard engine so no telling how long it has been sitting. do i have to take them to a dealer?

haha, avoid the dealer at all costs! there are local shops that specialize in these areas that can bench flow test your injectors. the dealer will break your wallet in pieces.

Re: 3.4L v6 HELP

yea, you've got alot of work to do, you need to check EVERYTHING, all your sensors etc, I would start with the basics, being that you at least have fuel pressure to the rails, check that with gauge, and then that your injectors are firing, then I would move to the ignition system and check for jacked up problems from the rev. bat connection.......good luck though.
