is 3.4 worhtless?
I currently have a v6 3.4L camaro.. i was looking into getting a nice catback exhaust for itand i was worried about hte sound and stuff so i was searching and read all the topics i culd find on it,and it seems that most people with a v6 have the 3.8L, i dontm think i really found any that have 3.4.. i was just wondering if my 3.4 is completely worthless and i shouldnt add exhaust or anytihng to it, is it not worth moding or anything?

No, a 3.4 is not worthless. As far as sound, I think they sound surprisingly throaty. Sure, your base HP is lower than a 3.8, but it's certainly not useless. Unless you want a 3-400 HP'd V6, which you shouldn't. I'm satisfied with my 3.4

yea, i was just htinking about getting a nice catback exhaust for some sound and maybe getting some stripes put on and bumper inserts.. nothing really expensive but u gotta have a loud car right? even a t-top conversion wuld be sweet =) but ill just keep saying i better not try it

Mines got inserts and a cat-back.. That's pretty much it, and that's about all I'm doing. I'm saving for other stuff and soon I'm going to take out a loan for a Z28 probably.
Mine sounds pretty good. IMO 3.4's sound A LOT better than 3.8's... Thanks to the stock cam.

Seriously, there is nothing wrong with the 3.4 camaros or firebirds, yeah the 3.8 is a better motor but so is the LT1 over the L98 and the Ls1 over the Lt1 etc etc.... just because you have the older or less powerful motor doesn't mean you should give up all together. Do the best with what you got, throw a nice cat back on there, maybe a CAI some nice wheels or tint or a system and enjoy it! Make it look good, run good and sound good and you're good to go. I like mine,its not as fast as some others but it makes a great daily driver.
The 3.4L is sure durable,my car has 252,000km(158,000 miles) from 3 owners and still runs strong.
