2007 Camaro

IMO, this is not a camaro...it looks like a small mini van, or an apache or something. I hate it. I know i will not be purchasing one.

Thats no Camaro, please tell me you confused that with someones crude nightmare of a Honda Accord...

Lost its heritage F-Body style.

All the possible 5th gen info you need is in the 5th gen forum. Thats where i lurk mostly and there are some respectable knowledgeable members that are there regurlarly. This article was posted a long time ago. It was originally on GMInsidenews.com and its an article relating to possible info on the Camaro's return and the picture is an artist rendering and not even a hint at a new Camaro. Hell theres not much info out right now and certainly no pictures or even mentioning of styling so dont worry.

I sent them an email and this is what they replyed...

Dear Mr. James,

Thank you for contacting the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center. We
apologize, but the Chevrolet Camaro is discontinued. We want you to
know that a number of Chevrolet Camaro owners and enthusiasts have
expressed their fondness for this vehicle.

However, on September 25, 2001 General Motors Corporation announced
that 2002 would be the last model year for the Chevrolet Camaro and
Pontiac Firebird. Due to the decrease in demand for the sport segments, this
decision was unavoidable.

Although Camaro and Firebird have always had focused appeal, both Chevy
and Pontiac will continue the tradition of providing performance
vehicles with high value.

GM will continue to support the millions of Camaro and Firebird/Trans
Am owners with replacement parts, reproduction parts, accessories and
technical support through its Service Parts Organization.
GM has stated previously that the company is committed to continue
operation of the Ste. Therese, Quebec, plant through the term of the
current Canadian Auto Workers contract that expires in fall 2002.

At this time, no product has been assigned to the plant after that
date, but GM continues to study possible options. Nothing has changed
concerning GM's production plans for the Camaro and Firebird.

In fact, 2002 special editions of the Camaro and Firebird are available
at your local dealer

Again, thank you for contacting Chevrolet.

Sincerely,

Frank Brown
Customer Relationship Manager
Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center

Decrease in demand in sports cars??? WTF is that. THats why you cant find a v-6 now with under 200hp and why fords sell went up in the mustang...WHats next, i guess we can cancell the line of vettes and everything else that s a sports car?

From what I've heard, The Camaro/Firebird died because it was too steriotyped. Not sure if this is the true reason or not but it does seem to take a certain person to truly enjoy the car. I'm one of em! LONG LIVE THE F-BODY!!!

Don't worry deadmeat, I think every Camaro fan has shot Chevy an email and trust me, they're not talking. Thats the same exact response I got twice from them. Like I said above, consult the 5th gen forum. There are specific REASONS that GM cannot talk about the Camaro right now. But have faith, GM is putting stock back into RWD again with new platforms under development. After years of pushing FWD down peoples' throats, it seems they're committed to RWD again.

And as far as decreased demand in the sport car segment that is once again . How many new sports cars have come out in recent years? RX-8, 350z, 350z roadster, etc. etc.

Perhaps this thread should get bumped over to the 5th gen forum for a more in depth response.
