easiest thing to do is an exhaust. you have a 6 like me so headers really isnt going to do a lot and it will cost you a pretty penny. just get an exhaust, depending on what you want to spend a cat back or just a muffler and tips. I have the flomaster 80 series and got it used for $75. it sounds SO MUCH BETTER then stock, that is all I changed. You can get a K&n air intake but I really don't know if that will help out out too muhc becuase you have a 6.
best thing is the exhaust I say go with that..

other style upgrades not preformace that you can do:
fill-ins
rims
body kit (keep it clean and nice nothing over the top)
rally stripes
led "halo" headlights

GOOD LUCK!

Re: 2000 camaro 3.8 v6 help out

catback exhaust systems on the 3.8 only sound good from idle to about 2500 rpm, if you did the whoe exhaust with headers it would sound better but louder, dont do it for the power, you will only get maybe 5-10 HP with it,

there's not a lot you can do without spending a lot of money,

But you can do "free mods", just search for "free mods"

and another good thing is to get an intake lid & K&N filter.

The best thing I have found is

1. maintenance items, replace spark plugs, fuel filter, seafoam the motor, fuel system cleaners, routine oil changes, auto trans fluid changes, coolant change, these things will keep the car running it's best.

2. I think the hypertech programmers work pretty good for netting power increases.

other than that I would spend money on appearance and stereo because unless you plan on spending $1000's there's really not anything that will make a noticable difference.
