1993 z28 backfiring after warming up

1993 z28 backfiring after warming up
I just bought a 1993 indy pace car, it ran great for a couple of weeks. It is now after coming up to temp. is running really rough and backfiring. After it cools down it it is ok again. There are no service eng soon lights on.
