Alright well as a few of you may have read i raced a Neon Srt-4 a few weeks back. At the time all i had was flowmaster exhaust and people said he was running around 20psi and he ended up putting 5-6 car's on me. Well sure enough i was out cruising and i saw him at Mc.Donalds so i pull in i ask him if he wants to race and he's like are you serious (since he beat me so bad last time) and i'm like ya. I now have K&N cold air and pcm tune from Ion at madz28. So we get on the interstate and go from 40-50 we take off and he gets a little lead of about 1/2 to 3/4ths a car length i start gaining and pulling on him but there is a big semi coming up so slowed down. We go again this time i get a big jump on him and put about a car well i ended up missing 3rd. I havent missed a gear in forever so i was mad. We end up getting off at the next exit and the first thing he says is what did you get done? I was like i just got my miss fixed, because my car really was hesitating from 5k to 6k but i didnt want to tell him about the rest of my mods. He then says he was running too high of boost and that he needed to turn he down. He said i'm at 13 pounds now so you should kill me now. We get back out on the interstate 40-50 roll again and we are like dead even up to around 100-110 but had to slow down for traffic. We then go again this time we were even again but i put about half a car on him by 80 well as soon as i hit around 100 he starts catching up real fast and is back beside me again i don't know how high we got that time but a car was up ahead so we slowed down. I don't know what all he has done but i know he was lying when he said he was going to stock boost because there's noway i could hang with him when he had around 20 and then him go to 13 and i still can't pull him. I was hoping i could beat him this time but i guess not i think he put a downpipe on since the last time i raced him but i don't know how much that helped.

I still can't believe how hard that car pulls over 100 i thought for sure i'd leave him but i guess not.

But i defintly think i suprised him, he was acting all suprised i wanted to race him again. He was thinking he would smash me again but i proved him wrong :P. He was a cool guy though and he told me i was the fastest z28 he's raced. I bet i'm the only one he raced to.

For the people who don't want to read all this pretty much me and the neon were neck and neck once i shifted he would gain a little, and once he shifted i would gain a little.

 

for being a relativly stock LT1 i would say that you stood up pretty well. my friend has a stock SRT4 and i have beat him every time, but it was close at the beginning. from my experience they have no top end stock, because in my A4 3.23 i would pull on him by a few cars after 50mph by a lot. i would say get some longtubes and show him whos boss. the best mod on my old LT1 was longtubes without going into the engine. and its somewhat cheap. good luck and have fun killing the neon

Good kill i cant wait to get my car tuned right and running good so i can got race some damned turbo cars. Im so sick of driving my girlfriends neon.
