and the winner is

my friend has an 02 mustang GT with a catback, intake, throttle body, plenulum and computer and its an auto...We ran from a dig we both had 1 person in the car his passenger weighing about 30 pounds less.... i had him by an EASY 3 lengths by 85 and shut it down cause the road ahead was wet... i thought they were faster then that? my other friend has the exact same car , with the exact same stuff except manual and doesnt have a computer....should i expect a totally different run from the 5 speed? i no the 5 speed also has really crappy hard rubber tires...

Stock, or near stock 4.6L's are slow . They're a good run for a SLOW LT1 . Slap a blower on them and the tables turn though.

Nice kill!

Re: and the winner is

Well I have a stock motored 2000 gt with underdrive pulleys and thats it, and my buddy has a 01 gt with a cai, exhaust(xpipe and catback). I pulled him probably 2 cars out of the hole. We raced just under a 1/8th mile and I had him by about 4 cars. I cannot say if my car is a factory freak but I know its sure as hell easier(less driver error) to launch a auto, as I have a 94z28 with a built 60e and stalled.

Only 1 way to find out.......just run em.

The manual should be faster. I ran an auto 99+ on the highway one day when I had my last Mark VIII and pulled him by 2 cars from 55-125 and my car was heavy as hell. That same car might have gotten me from a standing start (maybe not) but from a roll he was toast.
