Ok, i have these 2 dumbass friends..One has a 1998 Chevy Malibu LS 3.1 V-6 150HP 180LB-FT 3100lbs 4A.

My other friend just bought a 2002 Ford Focus 2 door zx3 2.0 I-4 130hp 130?lb-ft 2700lbs 4A.

Well the guy with the focus thinks he would whoop the Malibu. i have told them both there retarded for even racing these 2 cars, But none the less there going to.

I would guess the Tourqe from the Malibu would be the only diffrence in this race..

I just wanna know who you think wins?

 

My money is on the Malibu for the 1/4. The extra torque gives it the edge. On the HWY the Focus should have the edge with its better WEIGHT/HP ratio but the aerodynamics on a hatch suck. I say the Malibu takes both.

 

Ha! My vote goes for the Chevy. The Focus engines don't have much oomph except for on top.

And everybody's gotta get their kicks somehow, whether they're driving a Viper or a Metro.

 

Actually my brother has a 1998 malibu ls 3.1 a4 and I have driven and I would have to say it could take a focus. But my brothers have an intake but I doubt that makes a big diff.

 

Well, The guy in the Focus said he will race him on monday but not until his bropther races the Malibu in his 97 Contour v-6 170hp 165lb-ft 2800lbs a4.

LMAO.. I understaned and agree that people have to get there kicks some where but its just funny listening to these guys fight over whos cars faster (or slower?).

Anyway, I dont know what he is gonna get out of having his brother race him first? Cause I'm pretty sure that Contour is faster then the Focus so if his brother loses them you know he is gonna get smoked.. Maybe thats what he is looking for.

Ok, they finally raced.. First of all the Contour beat the Malibu by about a car and half or so to about 70mph (pretty close)

Then the Malibu stomped the Focus!! By80mph the Malibu let of the gas and it tok the Focus about 5 seconds to close the gap at full throttle!! it was pretty ugly.. The Focus had nothing.

Funniest part of the night, my Uncle was coming home with me so he drove his car (94 Sevile sts..like 295hp)

Me and my wife drove home with uncle and my friend in the Malibu plled up next to us and tryed to race my uncle. It was funny as hell my uncle wth 3 people put 20 cars on that malibu to about 75mph it was horrible LOL. My uncle said he G-tech 6.89 to 60mph in his STS. the Malibu is like a 9.5 to 60mph..lol just funny as hell.

 

hahah, well i hold the answer, if u can find the other half.... my step brother raced his 01 malibu against his friends stock auto integra. well, the mablibu ran a best of 17.3, and he beat the integra that was running 17.5's

 

If I remember right the Malibu should have 160 hp, not 150. I believe that the quad 4 is the one with 150 in the Malibu.

 

I have alot of friends that are into racing J-bodies, and I always give them a hard time about how the winner is just proving how their car is 'less-slow' than the other. Everytime a new guy is around says oh ya....Its still fun to race them though. Definitely the best thing to do is to hang next to them at part throttle, drop back a bit to let them think they are winning and then hammer it and fly on by....9 times out of 8 they will say "how much nos you got in that thing?"
