Hey guys this is my first post, I read here at z28.com all the time. I have a 99 Artic white SS camaro with pretty much all the bolt ons and a great 3600 vig stall.
Well anyways I'm from Paragould Arkansas and we like to street race here. I have one of the very few f-body's around here,and their are a lot of fox body mustangs around here. One inpaticular has been kicking everyones butt. This guy never would get up beside me on the street, everytime I got close he would floor it. I finally got tired of this *** dodging me all time. So one of my buddies was with me one night and we decided we would just go and ask him in front of all his friends in the parking lot. WE pulled in and immediatly everyone comes over to where we are and pretty much surrounds us. I thought we were going to have to kick some of those a++holes heads in at first. I asked him if he was ready to see who had the faster car. He actually backed down at first but then his friends keeped aging it on for him to run. So he said he had to leave for 30 minutes to fill up his bottle. I told him he was going to need it in a nice way and sure enough he got back, and we decided to go to the local area wre we streeet race. The mustang had headers,cobra intake,4:10s, camshaft rocker arms, niitrous(he said it was a 100shot)BFGs, and thats all he told me. Well I have a hooking problem at the moment so I asked if we could go from a roll. ARound here people like to go from a dig to. He said he wanted to go from a dig , but we could also go from a roll . So my friends and others are behind us as well as some of his friends. We both got lined up and on the third honk we are gone. Im easing into the throttle trying to keep the stall from going crazy, finally get into full throttle just to get sideways and lite the tires up at the end of first gear. Hit second and start to have a steady pull, I hear the mustang get some louder revs, my guess the nitrous, but I guess it was to late because my Ls1 was only dropping to 5000 rpm on every shift. I was pulling like a mother now so the mustang must have shut off b/c he was way in mr rear view. I pulled him about a decent two cars before he called it quits I guess. I looked down around that time I looked in the rear view and I was doing about 110. My friends that were behind us said they couldn't tell who was winning at first until the mustangs headlights were shining on my bumper cover(HAHAHA)Then We ran from a thirty roll he got the jump on me this time, he went before the third honk. But I immediatly followed and the outcome was worse, he again cut his off b/c their was not catching up. That was one fun night I haven't had a fox body even try me sense then. Word travels fast in Paragould the town of 22,000 people. My camaro is actually known as whitey around here to those that know the street racing scene. I will get some pics soon and I will get my mods in my sig .I have a ton of these stories sense I have had my SS I'll share some more later or some new ones for that matter Been typing for a little bit talk later.

Yea, i didnt want to call bs or start a flame war. But a 5.0 with those mods and a 100shot wouldn't be slow.
You must have some nice mods.

I have all the free mods, lid ,K/N, Air temp mmod from slp, jet hot longtubes, custom 3 inch y-pipe, borla cat-bak adjustable, o2 sims, 3600 vigilante, granetilli mass air, ported throttle body from mti, fast toys ram air, Pcm forless by Bryan herter, lower control arms(bmr), no front sway bar, no back seats or air and egr for that matter, strut tower brace(bmr),3:42 gears, eaton posi, T/A rear end girdle, shift kit.
Ok I believe thats everything. After I get pullys,fast intake and 30 pound injecters I'm putting a cam in this car
The mustang was a 89 and I listed all the mods I knew in the first post, ow ya the mustang was a stick, I remember him saying it was a tremec.I don't remeber what kind exactly.
To give you an idea how fast my car is I ran an 8.13 in the 1/8 with just a 2800 stall and stock exhaust, and no programing. I figure with the 3600 and lontubes ,custom y-pipe, borla cat-bak on open and my pcm programing I can run in the 7s at ease now

When my fox bod gets back together it will run you.

It use to be a 7.70 1/8 mile all motor 302 with an untouched motor from Ford. When it gets back it should run some 6.90s-7.0s on all motor and then get a good 300 hp increase with some laughing gas.

 

Dude are you trying to tell me your 302 was untouched as in stock from ford and you run a 7.70 if this is true that has to be the funniest thing I have heard all year
You could run a 9.30 with a stock 302 from ford if your lucky
you might be talking about a crate motor and just trying to make it sound like it was stock in the car from the beginning because you said it was untouched by ford,and I wrong or right, if it was a crate 302 why didn't you say that in the begining?

IF you live close enough I WILL PROVE IT.

I am sure you have very low gears to be running the times you are running (EX 4:11's-4-56's) so your top speed wouldn't be as good as mine. I have 3:42's and run the times I run.

 

I am actually from the town where SS(WHITEY) is from and I know him personally. And he is right his car pulls up to that MPH. I have a LT1 Ws6 with a bunch of mods including 3:73's I toped out at about 153 and he was still pulling me. The car is a Freak Ls1 Auto he ran 13.0 with a Flowmaster and lid in 80 degree weather. I do have a some respect for some of the Ford cars out there. But SS whitey would RAPE this guy.
BTW the guy said he was planning on the 300 shot, it wont help much anyway if he can't get into the high MPH.
