Why Z-28 guys are talking about racing Celica GT-S (v-4) and saying it is a no joke??????

Do Z-28 guys have any idea that they are racing out of their league???? I love this board, but some of the members here just cannot differentiate between green and red...(or black and white, if you can not follow my analogy.)

Is anyone here above 21 and with a common sense???(any education?)

-its a kill section. not every race is gonna be a choice one.

 

Maxik I think it's time for you to buy a four cylinder japanese car of some sort. This is all you talk about. Sell your damn camaro, and get an import. That way you won't have to ponder it anymore, you can live it. lol

 

I'll race celica GTS's all day long. Doesnt mean I'm going to go out looking for them, or even challenging them for that matter. Most of the time when a SLOW import gets killed here, it was they who challenged the camaro. Just an observation.

Maybe it's cause the 4 cyls want to see how fast we really are. Example: Tonight going to a study group, a GMC Jimmy (about a 97-98) with exhaust pulled up next to me and starts gunning it and revving it at me, we're doing 40 mph and I'm in 4th gear. I just look at this dude and kinda laugh like he's joking around. He also has 4 people in his car, so I know he can't be serious, anyway, I sped up about 5 mph to get him off my side....but he pulls up next to me again, so I'm like alright buddy, I guess you want to see what this things got? So at 40 mph I threw it into 2nd and went to about 60 mph in a second or so, and there ya go, he didn't get up on me again...I think he just wanted to see what my car could do. I know when I owned my L98 Camaro I liked to try to race big dogs, just to see how fast those things were, see them pull...

 

Because a Metro owner knows he cannot challenge a Z. It's the smartasses in the Celica's or WRX's or ricers who "think" they are faster, and have to try and prove themselves, or as someone else stated, they just want to see what a legitimately fast car can do. I get challeged all the time. I don't race on the street and never will, but it's funny to see how frustrated they get when they figure out they can't provoke me into it. The key here, is that generally, it's them, not us, who are instigating the race, not the Camaro owner. You don't seem to understand that.

Ahhh....another monosyllabic wonder.

 

1) i've never revved at a camaro (or any car for that matter). about 10-15 f-bodies have revved at my volkswagen (even a cammed ls1 with nitrous revved madly and repeatedly at my completely stock looking and sounding 109ci hatchback).

2) lets say that a wrx or something does rev on a camaro. how is a low 14 second car revving on what appears to be a 13 second car any different from an f-body revving on a c5 or something? that is apparently acceptable and encouraged here.

Now, if a Celica wants to run me in my SS , that's fine by me - I'll run 'em.

I'd run a Viper given the chance , so why shouldn't the situation work in reverse ?
