What the @#&% happened!!!!

Took my '96 out today for a drive around town. I'm coming out of autozone and this dude in a Siverado reg. cab 03 or 04 my guess came by and revved and squeeled tire while doing about 50. Well I got in my car and caught him down the road a bit and lined up against him. Still not used to racing with a stick ( speed shifting, Etc..), I revved her up and launched, when I hit second this dude was in front of me by a car, hit third and he's still winning, I hit fourth and we were at a stand still with him ahead by 3 cars!!! He wasn't leaving me but I wasn't gaining either! Then he slowed and turned into a supermarket. I turned around to holler at him and was laughing and talking crap. I told him to meet me Friday night, cause I'm gonna run my '99 against him. I better not lose this one! He said it was stock. I've raced before with a stick, I'm not the greatest but not the worst either. What the hell are they putting in them trucks. I think he slowed because I'm pretty sure he is governed at 98 and he knew I would get him in the end. Anyone have a clue of how I got smoked like that?

what was it,1500,2500,3500? it could have a 5.3,6.0,8.1 (big block) or was it a duramax? they come w/ 595 ft/lbs of torque now,and the hypertech will give them like 95 hp and over 100 ft.lbs of torque i think it is. if it was a duramax,i could understand it w/ ur bad driving.

nice loss tho,go get his *** w/ the 99...

No way you should lose to a truck unless its an SRT-10 or Lightning....possibly an SS.

You've obviously never seen a modded turbo diesel...

Some trucks are killer sleepers.

This is one of my recent favorites:

The truck was a reg cab, 1500. step side and I'm pretty sure a 5 speed ( he barked the first 3 gears). I'll find out Friday and let yall know what's in that thing, like I said, he said it was stock, so I guess I'll tell him by '99 is stock also. lol

You are either a horrible driver, your car is putting out 200 horses, or his truck isn't even close to stock. Find out what he has in that thing!

If it was a 1500, the biggest stock engine in that truck is the 5.3L.

If it was a stick shift, the biggest stock engine is the 4.8L.

GM never put the 5.3L in front of a manual, except for the light-duty 3/4-tons trucks in '99.

How do you know it was his driving? You have no clue what was done to that truck. Just cause the driver said it was stock doesn't mean squat.
