Re: Viper vs. 1.6 turbo

didn't really get this one
first, the viper driver missed 4th twice?
how do you miss 4th first of all
it's a frickin 6spd where all you have to do is pull straight down

then from 60-140 the viper dusts him
then the turbo honda or whatever beats him later on?
the video just makes no sense to me
someone please explain it if you get it

Re: Viper vs. 1.6 turbo

Like posted above w/ a decent driver things would be much different....Pulling on a viper from a roll w/ a 1.6 is insane..regardless of what that kid had done

Re: Viper vs. 1.6 turbo

that was a 1st gen viper. Maybe a 96ish, but still 1st gen.

Vipers are very tough to drive for a bigger guy like him. I've driven a few first gen vipers and the well where the pedals should be is curved all around, I'm 6'2 and this can get very tricky.

Without a doubt the guy couldn't drive, but the civic might actually be fairly quick. It certainly didn't look like the viper was taking advantage of the 7000 rev limit.

What? The Civic never lost. The Viper did a flyby before the "60-140 Final Run" but that wasn't a race.

so that's what that was?
i figured it WAS the run from 60-140 or whatever
thanks for correcting me then

and yea, i agree with everybody else
that guy needs to keep cruising in the harley rather than race the viper

i was starting to think the same thing
but, whatever, either way the viper has the potential to kill the honda imo (and no, this is not a fanboy statement )

Re: Viper vs. 1.6 turbo

I wont bother with the video, but at the end of the day, one guy is driving a powerful RWD performance coupe, and the other one has a ****ty looking go-kart. Who would you rather be (just drive better if you pick the viper )

Re: Viper vs. 1.6 turbo

A civic beating a viper on the highway is unpheasable. I cant begin to comprehend it. A civic dose not have alot of gear. Even if it ran with a viper in the quarter I dont see how it could hang with one on the highway. The Viper driver must have been asleep at the wheel.
Find a viper and race it on the highway..Its a wicked wicked machine.

Re: Viper vs. 1.6 turbo

Plenty of built cars can redline 5th gear. You just need a ton of hp and a short final drive ratio.

Bone stock, I'd bet my Subaru sedan could pull 5th to damn near redline (roughly 165 ish) if it wasn't for the speed limiter.
