I work with this guy who has a 99 (I think;newer body style anyway) V6 Mustang who is absolutely convinced that he would have killed my 99 Z28. He was always talking smack about my Camaro, but no matter how many times I asked him to race, he wouldn't do it. He still persevered with his rediculous claims, though.

Well, since I bought the Mach he tells me, "There is no way in hell that I'll race that beast. It'll kill me."

This clown obviously doesn't have a clue what he is talking about. It seems that since it has the name Ford on it, it must be a muscle machine.

I just can't understand how he could be so sure that he could beat the pants off of one car, but at the same time get crushed by another car with similar performance.

yeah a guy i work with has a pretty little pony edition 2003 v6 5 speed mustang and he thought he could out run my 2000 z28. ha. not only does his car look gay with the little prancing ponies on the side and the fake a$$ hood scoop it was probably the slowest car i ever killed.

I had a kid in a regular cab short wide bed 2001 dodge pick-up (360). tell me he was the fasted thing in town, heck I'm not even the fastest thing in town. Seen him at the test and tune a few weeks later run a 16.something. I didnt say a thing to him.

 

Tell the guy with the V6 Stang that he's crazy if he thinks a V6 stang can keep up with the LS1.

 

i guess the real question is can a v6 mustang take a v6 camaro. battle of the 6's.

 

my friend has a 96 or 97 firebird with the 3.8 5 speed and it has dual exhaust tip. he give mustang gts a good run. i am not saying it is the fastest car, but for a v6 that thing will scoot.

No. The 193 horse V6 Stang is faster than the 200 horse V6 Camaro. I've seen tests of both bone stock, same driver, same day, same track.

 

people like that just make me shake my head in disgust. i mean what the hell is wrong with some people, i just had some punk kid tell me his bone stock 5 speed '95 mustang GT would easily destroy my '99. i just looked at the kid and flat out laughed in his face and asked him to run, but then all of a sudden the excuses were flying.

There is a Mach 1 running around the town where I live, and I am totally unimpressed with it. I think alot of it has to do with the fact he is a poser and can't shift, but still, it wasn't pulling my friend's 95 Z28 on the big end, which is the Z28 I now own. I do think he has driven the **** out of it and probably hurt the motor. He has been threw God knows how many trannies and clutches in the year or so he has owned it.....
