Turbo SS gives it to Ford GT
Turbo SS gives it to Ford GT
Not my story nor my car but what a good races http://media.putfile.com/Turbo-SS-vs-Ford-GT
Re: Turbo SS gives it to Ford GT
That was absolutely awesome.
I love playing the underdog. I know people don't think of an SS as a sleeper but it is when you're in the $150k+ price range.
The GT owner was pretty sure of himself, offering to go for money before he knew anything about the car.

Ouch, that has to be embarrassing... Losing to a car that costs $130,000 less after asking him to run for money.

Re: Turbo SS gives it to Ford GT
It was a race between a highly moded car verse a stock automobile.basicly a apple and a orange.
The SS had a turbo. Was the GT stock?I know the GT costs 150k but too bad the LS1 was'nt that fast stock. Don't get me wrong, I love LS1's. I have one.
Just like this
You can build a Fox body to blow the doors off a stock new Z06 for less than half the price of the Z06. But who cares? Its just a modded car verse a stocker.
I like to see a race between 2 cars that have equal money in mods regardless of the cars purchase price
It could of been a different race with the GT if it had the same money in mods as the camaro did.

its easier to have a 10 second modded car. Its not easy to get a low 11/high 10 second car in bone stock trim. Its IMO but I feel its way cooler to have a 11/10 second car thats stock than a modded one.
Also the Gt comes with a supercharger stock.Thats the way Ford decided to build it. They could of built a higher compression motor and made it N/A the same way gm stayed with building N/A power. How much boost can you safly run on a stock Ls1 block and pistons? Don't forget the GT engine is a 5.4 version of the '03-04 cobra's 4.6 engine. It does'nt take much at all for them to safly make 600 at the wheels.
The car in the video could have a built shortblock to go with the custon turbo system, turbo 400 trans, and 9 inch rear. That SS is not just modded. Its highly modded. could have as much as $10-$15 into engine. Its probally got has improved heads too. It aint no bolt on car.
If I got beat at the track in my 9 second Saleen by a mini van I'd just say I got beat. Most likely he sunk more money into that than I put in the saleen thats all. In competitive drag racing at the track is the car with the most $$$ into into it wins the majority of the time.
