Trying to race on the hwy.

So I'm driving home from work yesterday down the hwy. What sounded like a modded cobra is trying to pass me but can't due to traffic. He's behind me swerving a bit, jockeying for position. So I let him pass b/c it's a construction zone & my exit was coming up in a mile or so & the traffic was moderately heavy. Of course, anytime I see mustang even thinking about racing me my foot gets real heavy. But this time it didn't make sense. After the fly-by, right past my exit, he locks up the brakes to avoid hitting the car in front of him. I'm glad I didn't waste my time or life.

never worth racing in traffic. i almost killed myself and others being stupid when i first got this ls1. some little ricer was weaving thru traffic to get in front of me and show off. when traffic finally cleared he had a good 1/4 mile lead on me, so i punched it and didnt let off til i blew by him at 140+mph. as soon as i passed him, i started to slow down and tap the brakes. i could see a ~1/2 mile ahead two cars in the right lane, well, one switched to the left lane to be a dick. i did everything i could to slow down in time, a4, but downshifted from overdrive to drive, then 2 with heavy pressure on the brakes. i ended up about 2' from the bumper of the car in front of me and prayed he didnt slam on the brakes cause mine were cooked by that point.

i dodged a bullet and waslucky enough to live and learn from it. some people arent. you did the right thing.

I can't stand *******s trying to race in traffic like that. That's just plain ignorant. We are better than that... We don't have to race a Civic or an EVO to know who has the better car! When I'm in heavy traffic and the urge hits me, I just put the chopsticks away.

I would of went right past my exit, found a nice open area, and went for it, but as you said racing in traffic just is not smart, and I would not do it.
