OMG that was horrible. I hope the driver is ok. I couldn't believe how many times the car flipped over. That is exactly why they have all the safety rules at NHRA tracks like roll bar, harness and helmet.
The car can be replaced easier then a life so I hope to god he made it out ok.

Re: Too much power CRASH
hm. probably more like 100. He had a pretty good run before the wall vaulted him. It's not the car that matters, the engine can be pulled and put into another car, people crash all the time, they start over. Guy is probably fine, 10 point cage, harness, helmet.
Re: Too much power CRASH
I saw this posted on another board. The guy came away from the wreck with only minor injuries. He fully took the blame for the accident. He was running a class that didn't allow wheelie bars. Said he had done wheelstands many times before without a problem. He thinks when he hit second it threw the car back hard enough on the bumper it lifted the one tire slightly which caused him to veer into the wall.
For whoever said the car was only doing 50 mph, no way it would roll that many times at 50. Besides, I think it was a high 7 - mid 8 second car (not exactly sure) which means trap speeds would be in the 150 -170 mph range. That means 1/8 mile in the 120-125 mph range which probably means the roll started with him doing 80+ mph.

Are you really that ignorant to drag racing? That car is 120+ mph range in the 1/8th mile. There is absolutely NOTHING funny about that accident.
